My Highlights of 2017

Now that Christmas and the new year are very much in sight, I’ve put together a list of my personal highlights from 2017. This year included difficulties, like losing our wonderful Grandad in September and our darling dog just a few days ago. But reflecting on positive experiences doesn’t take away their significance.

I’d love to hear about the best parts of your year too. Here are mine:

  • Seeing Dreamgirls at the Savoy
  • Seeing Caroline, Or Change, Forty Years On and King Lear at Chichester Festival Theatre
  • Seeing Kate Tempest open Brighton Festival
  • Visiting Florence

Molly in Piazza del Duomo, Florence, Italy.

  • Taking a road trip to the Peak District with work friends
  • Visiting York
  • Staying with friends in Oxford
  • Wearing lipstick more often
  • Cooking with care
  • Saying sorry less and thank you more
  • Writing in my journal every week, creating a little history to look back on
  • Spending time with family
  • Appreciating sea air and views from the South Downs
  • Feeling healthier than I have for years and not taking that for granted
  • Finding new gluten and dairy free treats from Yorica and Rubys of London

Rubys of London Gluten Free and Vegan Doughnut from Greenwich Market

  • Working on projects I care about
  • Being published by The Guardian and Times Higher Education (links here)
  • Negotiating a pay rise for the first time
  • Developing my personal finance skills
  • Moving in with my boyfriend
  • Getting to know our new neighbourhood
  • Initiating and enjoying conversations with neighbours – including an unplanned fifteen minute walk with one elderly man because we happened to be going the same way
  • Reading brilliant books, like The Rules Do Not Apply and The Hate U Give

Thanks to the 6,095 of you who have visited so far. I’m set to hit 10,000 views by January – what a lovely gift from you all.

Have a great Christmas!
