Five Favourites: March 2018

March has been quite a month.

I won’t share many details, but I am enjoying how sparkly my ring finger is.

Finishing the last taught term of my MA, working, starting wedding plans and managing other changes means I’m giving myself a free pass to write less at the moment. I hope you’ll bear with me.

Have a great Easter weekend!

1. Penguin Modern £1 editions

Last month I picked up five books from the new Penguin Modern series (pictured below). The short essays and stories have been ideal for reading before bed. I’m halfway through the last one now – The Custard Heart by Dorothy Parker.

2. Love Stories

Dolly Alderton’s podcast marks the launch of her book, Everything I Know About Love. It features interesting people telling stories of first love, unrequited love, passionate love and everlasting love. I especially recommend the episodes with Ruby Tandoh, Afua Hirsch and Sara Pascoe.

3. Vietnamese Pumpkin and Coconut Curry

A delicious home cooking option, suitable for coeliacs and perfect for winter-spring evenings. Take a look at the recipe.

4. Vintage Prints Stationery

We ordered Save the Dates from this small business based in Worcestershire. I highly recommend Becca and Julie if you’re looking for personalised stationery. Visit the website.

5. Instagram-friendly doors

Like this one spotted in Hastings during a weekend visit with friends.
